Warranty Information

All product sold by Hasselblad Inc. comes with a factory warranty.

Hasselblad

Hasselblad H6D Series products: The warranty duration is 24 months or 100,000 exposures, whichever comes first. If you register your product within a three-month period from your purchase, we will give you an extra 12 months absolutely free.

Hasselblad H5D & H5X Series products: The warranty duration is 12 months or 100,000 exposures, whichever comes first.

Hasselblad H System lenses: The warranty duration is 12 months or 100,000 exposures, whichever comes first.

Hasselblad H System lenses (Orange Square): The warranty duration is 24 months or 1,000,000 exposures, whichever comes first. If you register your product within a three-month period from your purchase, we will give you an extra 12 months absolutely free.

Hasselblad X1D (Silver or Black) Series products: The warranty duration is 12 months or 100,000 exposures, whichever comes first. If you register your product within a three-month period from your purchase, we will give you an extra 12 months absolutely free.

Hasselblad X1D 4116 Series products: The warranty duration is 24 months or 100,000 exposures, whichever comes first. If you register your product within a three-month period from your purchase, we will give you an extra 12 months absolutely free.

Hasselblad XCD System lenses: The warranty duration is 12 months or 1,000,000 exposures, whichever comes first. If you register your product within a three-month period from your purchase, we will give you an extra 12 months absolutely free.

Hasselblad CFV Series products: The warranty duration is 12 months.

Hasselblad Flextight Scanners: The warranty duration is 12 months.

Broncolor

Broncolor products: All Broncolor equipment – with the exception of flash tubes, modeling lamps, protective glass, rechargeable batteries, textiles and parts subject to wear – carry a 2 year warranty.

Foba

FOBA products: 1 year factory warranty

Service Request Forms

Products eligible for standard repair or warranty handling can be serviced by Hasselblad Inc. Please request standard repair or warranty service via our ONLINE FORM.

Customer is responsible for shipping cost of warranty repair. Hasselblad Inc. is responsible for return shipping "same way" as product was sent within the United States.

Warranty Details

All Hasselblad Inc. products are sold with a manufacturer’s factory warranty.

Each warranty covers the following:

The product is free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal and proper usage of the product for a period specified above (see coverage above for each product line) from the date of original customer purchase. Hasselblad Inc. will, at its option, repair or replace this product providing the original purchaser:

A. Returns the photographic product by U.P.S. or Federal Express, Insured, Freight Prepaid to Hasselblad Inc. and:

B. Has returned the Warranty Registration Card within thirty (30) days of date of purchase together with proof of the date of original purchase (COPY OF THE DATED ORIGINAL SALES RECEIPT)

This warranty does not cover any defects or costs caused by:

1. Modification, alteration, repair or service of the product by anyone other than Hasselblad Inc. or its authorized service center listed below

2. Physical abuse to the product, overload of, misuse of the product, or operation thereof in a manner contrary to the accompanying instructions

3. Any use of the product other than that for which it was intended

4. Damage due to accidents, water, impact, improper care and maintenance

5. Labor, shipping costs and cost of parts not authorized by Hasselblad Inc.

Service Terms

Hasselblad V System - Repair Terms and Conditions:

Estimate Processes for Hasselblad V System Products:

Please note that Hasselblad Inc. estimated repair turnaround time for V System Products should be five to seven business days from the date that payment information is secured from the customer or dealer. The estimate process for V System equipment (only) is as follows: Service will contact the end-user, or dealer to get payment information and preapproval for V System Bodies or Lenses at $300.00 or less. The preapproval amount will be $150.00 or less for any V System Magazines that are sent in by the customer for repair.

If the technician determines that the repair will be in excess of these thresholds amounts, the customer will be re-contacted with the official estimate amount and Service will attain authorization from the customer to proceed with the repair.

Repair Parts:
Please note that under no circumstances will Hasselblad Inc. return the defective spare parts that were removed from the product(s) serviced at Hasselblad Inc. These repair parts will either be disposed of under Hasselblad Inc.’s supervision, or sent to our respective corporate headquarters for evaluation.

General Repair Terms and Conditions:

All repairs and any spare part order over $20.00 are subject to a $10.00 handling charge.

All products sent to Hasselblad Inc. Repair Department for generation of repair estimate are billed $145.00 for preparation of the estimate.

- The charge for a Hasselblad repair estimate is credited to the repair if the customer approves the estimate.

- There is no charge for estimate refusal.

- The charge for a Broncolor repair is $145.00 for estimate refusal.

Repair Eligibility:
Products over 10 years old may be refused for repair. Spare parts for these products may be unavailable. Please check with the service department prior to sending older products in for repair.

Typical Repair Times:
broncolor, Kobold, Foba, Hasselblad - Estimate usually issued within 2 business days of product receipt. Repair is normally completed within 5 to 7 business days after approval of estimate. Some repairs may take longer based on availability of spare parts.

Important information for out of warranty repairs:

1. Any product that is sent to Hasselblad Inc. for service outside of warranty is evaluated for repair and an estimate is generated. This estimate is sent to the customer.

2. After the estimate is sent, the customer must approve or reject this estimate and provide a form of payment for the repair.

3. The service department will follow up with the customer via email every three (3) days in an to attempt to get an acceptance or refusal of the repair.

4. In the case of refused estimates the product will be returned to the customer at the customer's expense. Hasselblad digital repairs that have been sent to the corporate service center and have received and refused the estimate will incur an estimate refusal fee of $200.00 plus shipping cost.

5. If the customer does not respond to the estimate, within 90 days of the first issuance of the estimate, by either accepting the charges, refusing the charges and providing return shipping information, or requesting more time then the service department will send a "signature required" letter to the customer requesting a response within 30 days. The letter will contain notice that the customer has 30 days to accept or refuse the equipment or it will be disposed of (i.e. thrown in garbage). The letter will also contain a copy of the quote listing the items to be disposed of and the repair estimate.

6. If no response is received 90 days after the generation of the estimate then the goods will become property of Hasselblad Inc. and will be disposed of.
