Hasselblad Bron July 2015 Newsletter

DUSTIN SNIPES: KEEPING UP WITH THE ACTION   My approach to these shots before has always been to slow down and shoot at a lower frame per second (sometimes all the way day to 1fps depending on the ambient lighting conditions) in order to maintain a consistent light quality from shot to shot with my older strobes. The problem was that the old strobes couldn't keep up and when I was firing with 610 heads at a time and sometimes a few heads wouldn't fire consistently together, leaving dark spots or uneven lighting on the image.     QUICK LOOKS FROM PRO SOLUTIONS SEMINAR! A quick glimpse of some amazing images from our Pro Solutions Tour stop...

Quick Looks from Pro Solutions Tour!

150626_HBI_PST_MI-18-EditA quick glimpse of some amazing images from our Pro Solutions Tour stop in Miami at the awesome One Source Studios! We rocked a broncolor Para 222 setup with a Scoro 3200S. The quality of light from the Para is so unique in producing light that provides both large coverage and punchy contrast. Because of the size of the Para 222, the photographer was able to stand directly in front of the light with no visible effects on the model. A big thanks to Kristyn Pilgrim, our model for the day. Make sure to check out her instagram and blog for some behind the scenes shots too!   We used the Hasselblad H5D-50C WIFI and the HC 2,2/100MM lens. The 50C...

Erik Valind is a freelance photographer, born and raised on the Florida beaches, now living in New York City. Specializing in commercial lifestyle photography and environmental portraiture. Join Erik behind the scenes on a recent shoot in the Bahamas. For some shoots we can get away with packing lightly. Yet other days, when the sun's bright we need to bring the light ourselves, and in a big way. Recently we had just such a scenario down in the blaring Bahamian sunshine while teaching at the Fstoppers Workshop on the grounds of the Atlantis Resort. With the goal of creating an edgy sports portrait of our model swimmer, we had to overcome harsh high noon light, and were able to do so...
